The BAX BX18 is the EDM pulse generator and EDM power supply of the DIY wire EDM machine kit. It is a single compact 19 inch 3U unit with a high-efficiency switched-mode current source, so you do not have to design your own wire EDM generator circuit or wire EDM power supply.

The BX18 uses EtherCAT and works with LinuxCNC. The servos and the generator connect to the PC over Ethernet, so a DIY wire EDM machine can be a PC, servos and this generator. The generator settings can be set from G-code.

Together with the wire machine: the C-Arc controller reads a load cell on the wire and sets wire tension and speed, with automatic wire-break detection. The electrical diagram for the machine is supplied with the control cabinet.
